METAMORFOSIS

To be a woman is to navigate a space of otherness, shaped by a culture that, for centuries, has kept us on the margins. In a system dominated by the male gaze, our ideas are questioned, our opinions ignored, and our education undervalued. This confines us to roles we did not choose, casting us as antagonists in stories not our own.

This marginalization compels us to seek refuge in an imaginative world—a space where we can exist authentically, free from external definitions and imposed roles.

This project delves into the journey of reclaiming and reconciling our identities, challenging the narratives we've been taught to accept. Through three acts, it portrays key stages in a woman's life, reflecting the process of rewriting our stories and rejecting the roles imposed upon us.

Innocence

The pure state of the soul. This stage reflects the character's childhood, where she first becomes self-aware.

It represents the initial glimpses of herself, influenced by ideals of beauty and the roles society expects her to play.

Yearning

A deep and intense desire. This phase, representing adolescence, embodies the longing to become something more, to find one’s own place.

It is a stage marked by uncertainty and confusion, where identity is still forming amidst internal impulses and external expectations.

Absolution

Freedom. This stage represents the character's adulthood, where she starts to release the guilt imposed by the male gaze and societal roles.

By transcending these limitations, she confronts her true self and achieves freedom not given but conquered, allowing her to fully embrace who she truly is.
